The MetaFilter Status Blog (RSS Feed) provides information about planned (and unplanned) MetaFilter service disruptions. It is hosted on a separate server and provides updates from Matt during outages. You can also check the Netcraft Uptime page for MetaFilter for a third-party report of MetaFilter's status. Some incomplete historical status updates mostly from the 2004-2007 timeframe are also available.
