Jump to navigationJump to searchAt one time this page used to host a FAQ for MetaFilter. Those questions once asked and answered on this page have been encompassed and surpassed by the site's official Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) list, which became an official feature on April 20, 2006.
The idea for a MetaFilter FAQ did not originate with the wiki. In the fall of 2002 MeFi user frykitty, with help from others, selected key threads out of the thousands posted to MetaTalk to illustrate topics on which there was broad consensus. Structured as a FAQ, and hosted at frykitty's site, it linked directly to the appropriate MetaTalk threads where the original discussion took place.
