Deleted Threads

Nothing to see here, move along...

"You've stumbled upon a non-existent post, or one that was deleted for various reasons."

Some threads are deleted by Matt Haughey, because they don't meet the guidelines or appear to be a troll. If one of your threads gets axed, don't lose any sleep over it: it's not a negative reflection on you and we all make mistakes.

In late 2002, Matt began posting a reason for each thread's deletion at the beginning of the thread. Soon after the fabled 'Nothing to see here, move along...' banner was removed from the top of each deleted thread. Later the post and its comments were retained, making it possible to view the thread but no longer add new comments.

It has been suggested several times that all deleted threads should be collected, perhaps as a resource to show new posters 'what not to do'. This has been mooted since it's feared that people may start deliberately posting bad threads in order to get into the 'Hall of Shame'.
